STAGE 2: THE OPPORTUNITY

Weekenders experience the most stress once when they are on their trip and try to access something they did pack and also realizing that they need something they forgot to pack.

How can I create a carrying case for the weekender to remember what to pack and also have easy access to those items?

STAGE 3: EXPLORATION

CURRENT WEEKEND BAG OPTIONS:

Why aren't these addressing the pain points of remembering what to pack and being able to access what they did pack easily?

BACKPACK

Original design was to carry vertical supplies (laptop, book, notebook, etc.)

For maximum capacity for travel, you need to stack items on top of each other. This limits visibility to the top layer and means to retrieve something, many packed items are affected.

DUFFEL BAG

One large pocket where items often don't stay in the same place while traveling making retrieving something time consuming.

What do people need to carry in a weekend bag?

STAGE 4: INSPIRATION

1

REMEMBER WHAT TO PACK

Distinguished cubbies imitate how their clothes and belongings are separated in their homes and can replace large singular pocket storage.

2

EASY ACCESS POINTS

Similar to a dashboard, every item should be within a "first reach", both literally and visually.

STAGE 6: FINAL DETAILS

Here are their weekend  things.

Straps are connected to the top of the bag instead of the back panel

Vinyl lined Panel

Velcro shelving allow for temporary shelving

The A0 aids the weekender by giving packing clues through material breaks, space divisions and relativity to other items and spaces to know that and where to pack their things.

The straps are connected to the front panels shifting the weight distribution so it doesn't pull so hard form the shoulders. This also allows for the straps to be tucked in and the weekend bag can be transported by handle.

EASY BREEZY SECURITY

Avoid the panic by having all your related items already packed together. Toiletries and electronics are ready to go without disrupting other possessions.

REMEMBER WHERE YOU PACKED IT

Cubbies allow for easy recall and intuitive packing/unpacking, even when you might not have a lot of time or light to see.

SIZED FOR THE SPACES

Fits on bus over head compartments, by your feet on crowded road trips or in any standard carry on space on airplanes or other modes of transportation.
